Àlex Casta Awards
The life sciences and healthcare ecosystem in Catalonia has created the Àlex Casta Awards in memory of Dr. Àlex Casta, a renowned professional who left us in December 2018. Casta had held leadership positions at Biocat, Caixa Capital Risc and UPF Ventures, as well as founding the start-up RadisMed.
The Àlex Casta Awards are a pitch competition for start-ups in the sector to promote talent, raise awareness and incentivize entrepreneurship. The awards are presented during the BioRegion of Catalonia Report presentation ceremony.
The awarded company receives a prize worth €5,000 (€2,500 euros in cash and €2,500 in consulting hours thanks to the support of Genesis Biomed), a commemorative trophy courtesy of UPF Ventures, a year's free subscription to CataloniaBio & HealthTech and visibility in the communication materials of the organizing entities.
