Several experts and articles have highlighted that Catalonia has the capacities and potential to position itself among the top global hubs in digital health, and particularly in artificial intelligence (AI). In addition to a strong research environment and cutting-edge facilities like the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, there are almost 200 start-ups and companies working in AI.

CataloniaBio & HealthTech aims to help fuel the growth and competitiveness of entrepreneurs and the business fabric in AI applied to health, in line with Catalonia’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy that the Catalan government announced this past February.

What steps have companies taken to bring this technology into their business models? What examples of real applications are already in place for drug discovery, process optimisation or healthcare? How does it affect their value proposition for investors and buyers? What difficulties are there? How do they see the future? 

The next Lessons Learned session, on 18 June (streamed live), will bring together top entrepreneurs and experts in AI to share their expertise and experiences with participants.
