CataloniaBio Council brings together company CEOs and board members

In 2017, CataloniaBio is launching a new activity: the CataloniaBio Council. This is geared exclusively towards the CEOs, founding partners and board of directors at member companies. Its goal is twofold: to create a tight-knit group of executives that represent the present and future of the sector and to give them the chance to network and share in the knowledge of top-notch guest speakers.

The first event, held on 23 March at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB), was attended by fifteeen executives of CataloniaBio. TiGenix CEO Eduardo Bravo was present to explain the milestones his company has achieved since it was founded in 2000. TiGenix is a biopharmaceutical firm based in Leuven and Madrid that develops and markets new therapies from its allogenic expanded stem-cell platforms.

Representing the CataloniaBio Board of Directors were President of the association and CEO of Reig Jofre Ignasi Biosca and Secretary General Melqui Calzado.

At the CataloniaBio Council, participants spoke about several topics associated with investors, market access for drugs, managing talent and teams, among others. The CEO of TiGenix highlighted the importance of having investors that support the project, above all when there are problems, and that talent management and resilience are key factors for business development.
