QMENTA, the Google Maps of the brain, closes €1.4-million round

QMENTA, a CataloniaBio & HealthTech member, has closed a round of funding for more than €1.4 million through Capital Cell.

Created in 2013 in Boston and Barcelona, QMENTA provides a best-in-class, cloud-based data management platform that houses a patented, AI-powered analytical algorithms as well as a marketplace of partnered algorithms. 

QMENTA’s integrated solution enables clinicians to diagnose and treat brain disease with certainty and speed anywhere and anytime. The company currently has a team of 31 experts in neuroimaging, AI and engineering.

Rob Bancroft, new CEO

Along with further good news, the company has also announced the appointment of Rob Bancroft as its new CEO. Paulo Rodrigues, founder and former CEO, will be focusing on his responsibilities as CTO.

Rob Bancroft has over 25 years of healthcare and life sciences experience with a focus on enterprise strategy, market development, and commercial scale-up. Throughout his career, he has led the expansion of several businesses as Botox (Allergan). “I am honored to lead QMENTA into its next phase of evolution. The company has built a strong state-of-the-art technology, and also has a compelling vision to make a major contribution to the eradication of brain disease. The opportunities within the medical imaging market are vast, but we need to focus clearly, innovate rapidly, and develop a targeted, scalable commercial solution”, he said.
