The Catalonia 2022 working group unveils the 'Reset' document towards a new model for Catalonia after COVID

comunicacio@cataloniabioht.org,

The Catalonia 2022 working group has submitted the Reset document to the Government with 91 actions to help reactivate Catalonia and solve structural issues that the health crisis caused by COVID-19 has brought to light or aggravated.

The suggested actions have been divided into three areas and target both the Government and other public and private entities in Catalonia:

  • Fair, empowered and capable society
  • Competitive economy based on talent and innovation
  • A reformed public sector that is agile and a driving force

Catalonia 2022 working group has engaged in dialogue with more than 400 organisations from all spheres of society, including CataloniaBio & HealthTech, and has also appealed to the public.

"We are pleased to have participated in this country-building initiative and to be able to contribute our vision and knowledge as an entity that represents companies in the biomedicine and health sector," explained Judit Anido, CEO of CataloniaBio & HealthTech. "COVID-19 has made it even clearer that the healthcare sector is essential to generate the innovation that responds to global challenges. We have the capacity to be one of the great social, knowledge and economic drivers for increasing Catalonia's competitiveness. The Reset document puts forward actions in this sector and others that will enable us to make progress in innovation, digitalisation, sustainability and social welfare," added Anido.

Who are the experts of Catalonia 2022?

The Catalonia 2022 working group was created in June 2020 as an advisory body to the Government of Catalonia and its president, whose aim is to incorporate talent from different fields and disciplines and to have civil society's commitment to define policies designed to guarantee Catalonia’s competitiveness and development for the future.

The group is coordinated by Victoria Alsina and Genís Roca and consists of around thirty leading experts, including Oriol Amat, Elías Campo, Josep Maria Martorell, Ramon Maspons, Cristina Nadal, Lluís Torner and Montserrat Vendrell (board member at CataloniaBio & HealthTech).
